KATHMANDU: CPN-UML has submitted a seven-point memorandum to Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Mayor Balen Shah regarding the new setback requirement for building construction in the metropolis.
“Our attention has been drawn toward the decision of the metropolis to not allow building construction on an additional 20 meters of land, in addition to the designated distance from the edges of the rivers as indicated on the survey map, citing the Supreme Court decisions,” UML’s Kathmandu District Committee said in its memorandum.
Stating that the notice issued by the metropolis has affected and distressed millions of people, the party has demanded that the Metropolitan City’s decision be revoked and relief be provided to the residents.
