KATMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) shed 36.83 points to close last trading of the week at 2,749.57 points on Thursday.
With this, the benchmark index lost 224.89 points. Out of four trading sessions this week, the Nepse index ended in the green in only one session.
Share prices of 188 companies declined on the day while 53 advanced and two remained unchanged on Thursday. Goodwill Finance Ltd logged the highest turnover of the session with shares worth Rs 376.55 million traded. Next were Api Power Company and Himalayan Reinsurance Ltd with turnovers of Rs 366.61 million and Rs 355.61 million, respectively.
Among trading groups, only Mutual Fund posted nominal gains. All other sub-indices ended the session in the red. The biggest loss came from the Life-insurance sub-index which was down by 2.09%.
Share worth Rs 12.24 billion were traded on the bourse on Thursday. Market capitalization reached Rs 4.36 trillion.
