KATHMANDU: Rajendra Pandey has been unanimously elected as the Senior Vice-chairperson of CPN (Unified Socialist).
Pandey’s election to the position was confirmed after the other candidate, Ghanendra Basnet, withdrew his nomination.
“I have been elected unopposed. The Election Committee, however, is yet to make a formal announcement,” Pandey told Himal Press.
Pandey is also the Deputy Leader of the Unified Socialist in the House of Representatives.
The first full meeting of the central committee of the Unified Socialist is being held on Tuesday to elect office-bearers and politburo members. As many as 18 central committee members have filed their candidacies for 18 positions of office-bearers.
