KATHMANDU: The death toll of the Marshyangdi bus accident has reached 14.
According to the Armed Police Force, rescue workers have recovered 14 bodies from the accident site, while 16 injured have been rescued and sent to hospital.
The bus with Indian registration (UP 53 FT 7623) was coming to Kathmandu from Pokhara. There were 43 passengers on board including two staff. All of them are Indian nationals.
Meanwhile, the Nepal Army has sent a medical team and a helicopter to the incident site for the treatment of injured passengers. Army personnel said seriously injured passengers would be airlifted to Kathmandu.
The bus fell about 150 meters from Aina Pahara cliff on the Anbukhaireni-Muglin road section of Prithvi Highway at around 11:20 am.
