KATHMANDU: Mukul Dhakal, the suspended General Secretary of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has called for the expulsion of Vice President Swarnim Wagle from the party.
In a social media post on Friday, Dhakal said Wagle’s recent statements were not in favor of nationalism. “The party must dismiss the individual who repeatedly makes anti-national and treasonous statements referring to the army, the Monroe Doctrine and Bhutanization. The party should be developed as a force that always stands firm in favor of nationalism,” he wrote.
Stating that he was subjected to a guerrilla-style political attack, Dhakal admitted to making unintentional mistakes in the past few days. He, however, claimed that he hadn’t spoken a single lie and was ready to provide evidence.
“I have made some errors in my presentation during my defense. But I haven’t spoken a single lie in anything I have said during this time. I am ready to undergo any test to prove that I have not lied,” he added.
Dhakal also said that an independent investigation committee should be formed within the party to look into all allegations against party President Rabi Lamichhane.
“An independent investigation committee should be formed within the party to examine all allegations against the party president. He should be transparent and accountable to the party and the people regarding his past,” he added.
