Five missing in Gorkha landslide

KATHMANDU: Five people, including three from the same family, are missing following a landslide in the Gorkha district.

According to the District Police Office, Gorkha, the landslide, which occurred at around 3 am on Sunday, swept away an agricultural farm belonging to Jit Bahadur Gurung and a house at Resephant in Dharche Rural Municipality-5 in northern Gorkha.

Jit Bahadur Gurung, his wife Kanchhimaya (35) and his father Sulal Kanchha (60) are missing. Likewise, Ramesh Gurung (33) from the same ward and Ramesh Pariyar (34) are also missing.

Locals rescued Dilip Gurung (35) and Tham Bahadur Gurung (27) of Singla, who were found injured, according to the police.
