KATHMANDU: Chinese Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sun Weidong, paid a courtesy call on President Ram Chandra Poudel on Wednesday.
Discussions on issues related to Nepal-China relations as well as matters of mutual interest and concern were held during the meeting, according to the Office of the President.
On the occasion, President Poudel acknowledged China as Nepal’s key and long-standing development partner. He expressed gratitude for China’s support in Nepal’s development efforts over nearly seven decades. He expressed confidence that China would provide additional support as Nepal prepares to graduate from the least developed country category by 2026.
Vice Foreign Minister Sun is on a three-day official visit to Nepal. He arrived in Kathmandu on Monday to participate in the 16th meeting of the foreign secretary-level Nepal-China Joint Consultation Mechanism.
