KATHMANDU: A Nepal Police constable has been arrested on the charge of raping a minor. Santosh Bot (24) was arrested for allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl based on a complaint filed by the girl, according to SP Sitaram Rijal of the District Police Office, Makwanpur.

Bot, who hails from Kanchanpur, was deputed at Bharta Police Post.

In the complaint registered on May 29, the girl claimed that she was last raped on May 24. Police arrested Bot on May 29.

The girl said in the complaint that Bot raped her repeatedly in the kitchen of the police post.

According to police, the two first came into contact eight months ago.
