KATHMANDU: Ministers will now have to provide daily briefings to the Prime Minister on the activities of their ministries.
According to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, the cabinet meeting held on Thursday took the decision.
Speaking in the meeting of the Committee on Public Policy and Delegated Legislation of the National Assembly on Thursday, Dahal said a decision has been taken for ministers to brief the Prime Minister every evening about what good and significant work they have accomplished each day. “This will make ministers and ministry personnel more responsible about their work,” he added.
Dahal lamented that the administrative mechanism and civil servants have not been able to work with the same level of urgency and firmness as demonstrated by the government. “We need to study the reasons behind this,” he said, adding that employees and the political leadership must work together.
