Inquiry commission formed to suggests measures to control usury transactions

KATHMANDU: The government has formed a three-member inquiry commission to study and make recommendations to resolve usury-related problems within three months.

A cabinet meeting held on Thursday formed the commission. Former High Court Judge Tej Bahadur Karki leads the commission, while Pushkar Karki and Sanjiv Mishra are the members.

Likewise, it has extended the term of an inquiry commission formed to recommend measures to resolve disputes on dedicated feeder and trunk tariff between industrialists and Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).

Similarly, the government has decided to dissolve the National Land Commission. The commission was formed by the cabinet led by Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba.

Likewise, the cabinet has decided to allow the local administration to acquire land for different hydropower and transmission line projects in Doti, Chitwan, Tanahun, and Humla districts.
