KATHMANDU: The Election Commission has refused to recognize Resham Chaudhary as the Chairperson of the Nagarik Unmukti Party.
The Election Commission stated on Thursday that Chaudhary is not even fit to become a member of the party and declared that Ranjita Shrestha Chaudhary will remain the party’s chairperson.
Chaudhary, who was convicted for the Tikapur massacre but released on parole, was elected as the chairperson of the Nagarik Unmukti Party by the party’s 1st General Convention held in Tikapur of Kailali on January 12.
He had applied to the Election Commission to update his party’s details last month.
