KATHMANDU: Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal paid a courtesy call on Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar in New Delhi on Tuesday.
Matters of mutual interest and various aspects of bilateral relations between Nepal and India were discussed during the meeting.
Writing a post on X (formerly Twitter), Jaishankar said he was pleased to hear from Lamsal about progress in various aspects of our bilateral relations.
Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal left for India on Tuesday to participate in the 8th Asia Economic Dialogue (AED-2024). The theme for this year’s dialogue is ‘Geo-economic Challenges in an Era of Flux’.
The AED will be held in Pune from February 29 to March 2.
Lamsal will participate in the inaugural session titled ‘Promoting Economic Integration in South Asia’. The session will be chaired by AED 2024 Convenor Gautam Bambawal. She will share the dais with Indian counterpart Vinay Mohan Kwatra and Bangladeshi counterpart Masud Bin Momen.
Likewise, Dr Nishchal Nath Pandey, director of the Centre for South Asian Studies, will participate in a session entitled ‘Expanding Regional Connectivity: Towards a More Integrated South Asia’ to be chaired by Sudhir Devare. Prof Prabir De, Dr Atiur Rahman, and Tenzing Lamsang are the other panelists of the session.
