KATHMANDU: The Education, Health, and Information Technology Committee of the House of Representatives has directed the government to submit all the documents related to the Mobile Device Management System (MDMS) and Telecommunication Traffic Monitoring and Fraud Control System (TERAMOCS) to the committee.
After holding discussions on the issue with Minister for Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma and Secretary Ram Krishna Subedi and other officials of the ministry on Thursday, the committee instructed the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to provide all the documents related to policy decisions, the purchase process, payment, and the rationale for the implementation of MDMS and TERAMOCS to it for investigation. It also instructed the ministry to submit the report of the investigation conducted by the ministry as well as the decisions taken by the court. The committee has said that it would take a needful decision after consulting with the experts.
Speaking at the meeting, Minister Sharma said the ministry was studying policy decisions made by previous governments and the activities carried out by the implementing agencies. She assured that the ministry would fully cooperate in investigations conducted by the authorized agency into any alleged irregularities in the implementation of these systems.
