Murder-accused arrested after seven years

KATHMANDU: Police have arrested a man on the charge of murdering a woman in Balkhu of Kathmandu some seven years ago.

Narayani Timilsina aka Apsara was found dead behind Bhubaneshwar Temple in Balkhu in January 2017.

Police arrested Jagat Bishwakarma of Shigtanga-14 of Argakhanchi district and Shivaram Adhikari (46) of Dhading. Adhikari is already serving a prison term after being convicted of theft.

“The investigation has shown that Bishwakarma committed the crime and Adhikari was the mastermind,” said SSP Somendra Sing Rahtour, the chief of Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office.

Bishwakarma asked Apsara to come to Balkhu, murdered her, and decamped with her jewelry and cash, police say.
