KATHMANDU: Minister for External Affairs of Sri Lanka, M U M Ali Sabry, arrived in Kathmandu on Wednesday for a four-day official visit.
Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal received the Sri Lankan foreign minister at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu on Wednesday evening.
Minister Sabry will lead the Sri Lankan delegation in the first meeting of the Nepal-Sri Lanka Joint Commission (JC) set to be held in Kathmandu on December 21-22.
Minister for Foreign Affairs NP Saud will lead the Nepali delegation in the joint commission.
The two foreign ministers are also scheduled to hold a separate formal meeting.
During his stay in Kathmandu, the Sri Lankan foreign minister will pay courtesy calls on President Ram Chandra Paudel and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, according to the foreign ministry.
