KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has decided to hold a nationwide protest demanding the reinstatement of the ‘Hindu state’ and the scrapping of provinces.
The central committee meeting of the party held in Kathmandu on December 17-19 decided to establish these two agendas.
The party has decided to hold meetings and gatherings across the country over the next two months. Likewise, it had decided to organize the Mechi-Makhakil Unity March spanning the entire length of the country and hold a demonstration in Kathmandu Valley in March.
“The party appeals to all political parties, religious associations, industrialists, businesspeople, professionals, scholars and nationalist Nepalis all of over the country to join our campaign,” according to RPP Spokesperson Mohan Shrestha. “We have decided to integrate the remaining programs of the ‘New RPP’ campaign into this protest program.”
RPP has formed a central protest mobilizing committee under the leadership of party chairman Rajendra Lingden. The committee includes all the central committee members and invited central committee members of the party.
