NC to hold central committee meeting from Dec 28

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) is holding its central working committee meeting from December 28.

A meeting of the central work performance committee of the party, held on Friday, made the decision. The meeting is expected to decide on the party’s candidates for the National Assembly election scheduled for January 25.

The meeting also decided to postpone the party’s Mahasamiti meeting to February 19-22. The party decided to postpone the Mahasamiti meeting, scheduled for January 1-3, citing cold winter days and the National Assembly election.

Earlier, leaders of the anti-establishment faction had pressured the party leadership not to postpone the Mahasamiti meeting.

The meeting also discussed recent political developments and the Jajarkot earthquakes, among other relevant issues.
