KATHMANDU: As many as 34 individuals, including police personnel, were injured when supporters of controversial businessperson Durga Prasai clashed with police in Balkhu on Thursday.
According to a source close to Prasai, 14 of their supporters were injured when police intervened in their demonstration, while 20 police personnel were also injured.
The clash occurred when police tried to stop Prasai’s supporters from venturing outside the designated area for their protest. Police also fired tear gas shells to disperse the crowd.
The injured are receiving treatment at Kathmandu Medical College Teaching Hospital in Sinamangal.
