Nepse extends losses to third day

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index extended losses for a third straight session as the benchmark index shed 10.86 points to close the last trading day of the week at 1847.70 points on Thursday.

The market opened for trading at 1,858.27 points and lost value throughout the session to ultimately end the day 0.58% lower. Except for the Hotels & Tourism group, which went up by 4.27%, and the Manufacturing & Processing groups, all other trading groups ended the day in red. The maximum loss came from the Mutual Fund Index, which was down by 4.63%. The Trading sub-index also fell by 3.05%.

Asha Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd Promoter Shares logged the highest transaction of the day with shares worth Rs 101.01 million traded. Following next were Prime Commercial Banks Promoter Shares and Sonapur Cement with turnovers of Rs 64.55 million and Rs 44.96 million.

Shares worth Rs 964 million were traded on the bourse on Thursday through 45,763 transactions.
