KATHMANDU: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has reduced the price of petrol by Rs 11 per liter and diesel and kerosene by Rs 5 per liter.
With the fresh reduction, petrol will retail in Kathmandu Valley at Rs 172 per liter, and diesel and kerosene at Rs 168 per liter.
Issuing a statement on Sunday, the NOC said the new prices will come into effect from Sunday midnight. “We decided to adjust the prices of diesel, petrol, and kerosene in accordance with the new price rates received from our supplier – the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC),” the petroleum monopolist added in the statement.
Earlier, NOC had made heavy increments in the prices of petrol, diesel/kerosene, and cooking fuel. It later withdrew the decision under the pressure of the Prime Minister.
