KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal held a video conversation on Monday with a Nepali youth who has taken refuge in a bunker following the Hamas attack on Israel.
During the conversation with Bipin Subedi, Dahal requested Subedi for patience, stating that the government was taking necessary diplomatic initiatives for their rescue. “We have been assessing the situation since Saturday night. We are holding a cabinet meeting to discuss the situation, following which we will also hold an all-party meeting,” Dahal told Subedi. “We are in constant touch with the Nepali mission in Tel Aviv. We are also holding talks with the Israeli government at the foreign minister level.”
Dahal also requested Subedi to communicate the government’s efforts to other Nepalis trapped in Israel.
In response, Subedi said he was in touch with other Nepalis. “I have told my friends to share their location, keep a set of clothes and passports in a bag and be ready to move at any time,” Subedi said. “Please arrange for our earliest possible evacuation from here.”
