Ram Prasad Subedi appointed as ambassador to Switzerland

KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has appointed Ram Prasad Subedi as Nepal’s ambassador to Switzerland.

According to a press statement issued by the Office of the President, this appointment was made on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers in accordance with Article 282 (1) of the Constitution of Nepal.

Subedi will also assume the role of Nepal’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva, the World Trade Organization (WTO), and the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva.

On July 16, the cabinet nominated Subedi for the position of Nepal’s ambassador to Switzerland and the Permanent Mission in Geneva. He previously served as the deputy chief of the mission at the Nepali Embassy in New Delhi.

The Public Hearing Committee of parliament endorsed the nomination of Subedi, along with five others for various ambassadorial positions, on August 3.
