KATHMANDU: Paras Khadka, the former national team captain, will contest the election for the position of Chairperson of the Bagmati Province Committee of the Cricket Association Nepal (CAN).
The district committees of Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur and Makwanpur made the announcement on Friday. The chairpersons of these districts have endorsed Khadka’s candidacy. Nuwakot and Chitwan district committees within the province, however, have not said anything yet.
The 2nd annual general meeting of the Bagmati Province Committee is scheduled to elect the new leadership next Friday.
Khadka currently is the executive committee member in the Kathmandu district committee of CAN.
The four district committees have nominated representatives from Makwanpur, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur for the positions of Vice Chairperson, Secretary, and Treasurer, respectively. They have also said that the candidates fo the nine posts of executive members will be decided later on.
