Two Nepali cyclists participating in world cycling championships Nepal Sports Council (NSC) Member Secretary Tanka Lal Ghising seeing off the Nepali delegation to 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships.

KATHMANDU: Two Nepali cyclists, Suraj Rana Magar and Usha Khanal, are representing Nepal in the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships held in Glasgow, Scotland, from August 3 to 13.

The 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships is being organized by the Union Cycliste Internationale. Nepal Cycling Association (NCA) is coordinating Nepal’s participation in the championships.

NCA organized the UCI Cycling World Championship Selection in Kathmandu on May 29 to select Nepali cyclists for the championships.

“Suraj Rana Magar and Usha Khanal emerged as winners in the men’s and women’s categories, respectively, during the UCI Cycling World Championship Selection held in Jagdol, Kathmandu, on May 29,” said Ranjan Rajbhandari, the general secretary of the NCA.

Rajbhandari is accompanying the two cyclists to Glasgow as the team manager. The Nepali team is scheduled to depart for Glasgow on Sunday.

The two Nepali cyclists will participate in the Mountain Bike Cross Country event. “The qualification heats for both the men’s and women’s categories are scheduled for August 8,” Rajbhandari added.
