Youth shot dead in Sunsari

KATHMANDU: An unidentified gang shot dead a youth in Sunsari district on Friday evening.

According to the police, a gang of three fired at the youth who was resting near Seuti Bridge at around 5:30 pm. “The deceased has been identified as Rohit Chaudhary (28) of Biratnagar. He was en route to Itahari from Dharan,” said SP Prabhu Prasad Dhakal, Chief of the District Police Office, Sunsari. “We have already obtained details of the three suspects and are actively searching for them.”

According to Dhakal, Sumana Khatri, who was with Chaudhary at the time of the incident, is unharmed. Sumana hailed an ambulance and took Chaudhary to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences for treatment. He succumbed to his injuries at around 6:30 pm, stated Dhakal.
