Thapa proposes to form 22 new departments in NC [With list]

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa has proposed the formation of 22 more departments in the party.

Thapa presented the proposal during the central working committee meeting of the party which kicked off in Lalitpur on Tuesday.

The proposal comes at a time when the NC is struggling to nominate members for most of its existing 48 departments. Only the Information, Communication, and Publicity Department of the party has got the complete shape.

Thapa also presented the party’s annual calendar during the meeting. The calendar outlines that all party departments will be fully formed by the end of August. He suggested that provincial, district, and local committees of the party can create similar calendars and implement them accordingly.

“If the calendar is implemented, central working committee members will have only one month of free time in a year,” he added.

  4. Development and Infrastructure Department
  5. Good Governance Department
  6. Cooperative Department
  7. Entrepreneurship, and Small and Medium Enterprises Development Department
  8. Disaster Management Department
  9. Energy and Water Resources Department
  10. Youth Department
  11. Former Police Personnel Department
  12. Civil Relations and Grievances Hearing Coordination Department
  13. Vocational Skill Development Department
  14. Senior Citizen Coordination Department
  15. Underprivileged People Upliftment Coordination Department
  16. Informal Sector Workers Coordination Department
  17. Social Organization Coordination Department
  18. Free Community Rehabilitation Coordination Department
  19. Climate Change and Environmental Balance Concerns Department
  20. Religion and Culture Coordination Department
  21. Former ImmigrantsCoordination Department
