KATHMANDU: CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has stated that CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli was working to topple the communist government and form a government with the capitalist Nepali Congress (NC) party.

Speaking at a program held at the party headquarters on Friday, he said Oli is repeatedly saying that he would support the NC if it shows the intent to lead the government.

“UML did not choose to unite with socialist forces. Even now, Oli is influencing the NC and indicating his readiness to support the party in forming the government,” he stated. “What an irony! What will be the character of the UML party?”

He also accused Oli of attempting to overthrow the government led by CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal by collaborating with the Nepali Congress.

Nepal also claimed that his party has emerged as a significant force in Nepali politics.

“Instead of appreciating us for forming this front, Oli is not accepting the formation of the Socialist Front,” Nepal commented.
