KATHMANDU: An armed gang robbed Rs 3.5 million from the Mahottari branch of NMB Bank Ltd on Tuesday.
DSP Prakash Malla, chief of the District Police Office, Mahottari, said that the gang overpowered security guards and bank officials and looted the amount at around 12:25 pm. “We have begun a manhunt to search the robbers, he added.
According to eyewitnesses, there were four people in the gang. After robbing the bank, two of them rode toward Parsa and the other two toward Prkauli on motorbikes.
The nearest police station is located at a distance of around 700 meters from the bank.
