Three new ministers inducted to Lumbini Province cabinet

LUMBINI: Lumbini Chief Minister Dilli Bahadur Chuahdary has added three new ministers to his cabinet.

Chaudhary on Monday appointed Raju Khanal of Nepali Congress (NC) as Minister for Health, Chandrakesh Gupta of Janamat Party as Minister for Social Development, and Bhandrai Lal Ahir of Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) as Minister for Agriculture and Land Management.

Likewise, Chaudhary has assigned responsibilities to two ministers of his cabinet who were sworn in earlier. Dharma Bahadur Chaudahr of Nagarik Unmukti will look after the Physical Infrastructure portfolio, while Santosh Kumar Pandey of Loktantrik Samajbadi Party will oversee the Internal Affairs, Law and Cooperatives portfolio.

According to Chief Minister’s Secretariat, the new ministers will be administered the oath of office and secrecy by Province Chief Amik Sherchan at 4 pm on Monday.

Dan Bahadur Maski of CPN (Maosit-Center) has been discharging responsibility at the Ministry of Economic Affairs.

Few ministerial positions are still lying vacant in the Lumbini Province cabinet. According to the province government spokesperson Santosh Kumar Pandey, the remaining ministers will be appointed after the budget for the new fiscal year is presented.

NC and Maoist Center have agreed to lead the provincial government by turns.
