
KATHMANDU: Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against Bikal Poudel, executive director of Security Printing Center, and eight others at the Special Court.
According to Bhola Dahal, the spokesperson for CIAA, the nine have been accused of corruption in the procurement of digital infrastructure for the center. The anti-graft body has sought to recover Rs 2.69 billion from the nine accused.
Along with Executive Director Poudel, CIAA has charge-sheeted Senior Divisional Engineer (Mechanical) Nabin Kumar Pkoharel, Deputy Director Ramesh Prasad Pokharel, Section Officer Manik Man Maharjan, Account Officer Ram Bahadur Budha and Section Officer Sirish Upadhhaya.
Likewise, CIAA has also charge-sheeted Rohit Man Pradhan, Bhuvan Maharjan and Mitralal Gurau of vendor companies.
CIAA has sought to recover Rs 690.88 million from Executive Director Poudel, Rs 494.63 million from Pokharel. Pokharel is currently posted at the Ministry of Forest and Environment.
Likewise, CIAA has sought to recover Rs 198.89 million from account officer Budha. He has already taken retirement from government service. Similarly, CIAA is seeking to recover Rs 400.13 million from section officer Upadhaya. He is currently posted at District Coordination Committee, Kathmandu. The anti-graft body is seeking to recover 34.46 million from Section Officer Maharjan.
Similarly, CIAA has sought to recover Rs 234.4 million from Rohit Man Pradhan of Engineering Marketing Concern Pvt Ltd, 438.74 million from Bhuvan Maharajn of MepTrek Building Services, and Rs 869,097 from Mitralal Gurau of Vastushilp Associates.
