KATHMANDU: Vincenzo Alberto Annesse of Italy has been appointed as the Head Coach of Nepali national football team.
According to All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), its working committee meeting decided to appoint Annesse to the post on the recommendation of its recruitment committee.
The post had been lying vacant since Abudullah Almutairi of Qatar tendered his resignation on September 11 last year.
Who is Annesse?
Born in 1984, Annesee began his coaching career in his homeland before managing teams in Latvia, Ghana, Indonesia, Belize, Kosovo and India.
He led Indian club Gokulam Kerala to two consecutive I-League titles in 2020-21 and 2021-22. Under his coaching, Gokulam Kerala recorded longest unbeaten streak of 21 games, breaking the record of 17 games previously held by Churchill Brothers.
Annesse holds International UEFA Pro Coaching license and doctorate in Football Science.
