NDC delegation returns back

KATHMANDU: A 31-member delegation of New Delhi-based National Defence College (NDC), which arrived in Kathmandu on Sunday, returned back on Thursday.

The delegation led by Air Vice Marshal Tej Bir Singh paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and finance minister Janardan Sharma. “The delegation also visited the army headquarters and participated in presentation and interaction on several aspects of the Nepal Army,” the Nepal Army said in a statement. “The delegation also paid a courtesy call on Chief of Army Staff Prabhu Ram Sharma at the army headquarters.”

The delegation visited the Pokhara-based Mid Command Headquarters and toured Pashupatinath Temple, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Lumbini, and other tourist attractions in Kathmandu and Pokhara.

“The Nepal Army believes that such visits organized during high-level training organized in neighboring countries not only enhance military relations between two countries but will also help in tourism promotion of Nepal,” the army added in the statement.
