KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) went up by a whopping 76.64 points to close at 2,177.34 points on Tuesday.
The market opened for trading at 2,100.12 points and gained momentum immediately. The benchmark continued the momentum throughout the day to end 3.65% higher.
All the trading groups ended the day in green with the maximum gains coming from the Investment sub-index which was up by 6.25%. Next on the list were the Finance and Hydropower sub-indices which posted gains of 5.94% and 5.33%, respectively.
NIC Asia Bank topped the list of companies in terms of turnover with Rs 129.24 million worth of shares of the Class ‘A’ banks traded. Next on the list were Ngadi Group Power Ltd and Api Power Company Ltd with total turnovers of Rs 110.37 million and Rs 94 million, respectively.
A total of 9.3 million units of scrips worth Rs 3.36 billion changed hands through 59,927 transactions on the day. Total market capitalization reached Rs 3.14 trillion.
