JANAKPURDHAM: Saroj Yadav has been unanimously elected as the parliamentary party leader of Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) in Madhesh Province Assembly.
Incumbent Chief Minister Lal Bahadur Raut had also expressed interest to continue as the party’s parliamentary leader. He had even registered his candidacy. But Raut backtracked at the last moment and supported Yadav’s candidacy.
The seven-party ruling alliance formed at the center is believed to have promised the post of the chief minister to JSP. If that happens, Yadav will become the Chief Minister of Madhesh Province.
Krishna Prasad Yadav has been elected as the parliamentary party leader of the Nepali Congress in Madhesh Province. CPN-UML and Janamat Party have elected Saroj Yadav and Mahesh Yadav, respectively, as their leader in the assembly.
