Nepse index up by 64.78 points

KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) went up by 64.78 points to close at 2,215.84 points on Wednesday.

The market opened for trading at 2,061.07 points on Wednesday and gained values consistently to end the day 3.14% higher.

All the trading groups posted gains on the day with maximum gains coming from Trading sub-index which was up by 9.74%. Next on the gaining list were the Investment and Microfinance sub-indices with gains of 5.72% and 5.67%, respectively.

Fourteen scrips hit a positive circuit of 10% on the day. Himalayan Distillery Ltd logged the highest turnover of the day with Rs 115.28 million worth of shares traded, followed by Sanima Mai Hydropower company (Rs 108.73 million) and Nepal Doorsanchar Company Ltd (Rs 100.43 million).

A total of 8.73 million units of 258 scrips worth Rs 3.50 billion were traded in the secondary market through 57,312 transactions on the day. Total market capitalization was recorded at Rs 3.07 billion.
