KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal met with the office-bearers of the Election Commission (EC) on Monday to discuss the upcoming elections for the positions of President, Vice President, and vacant members of the National Assembly.
During a meeting at the Office of the Prime Minister on Monday, Dahal requested that the EC officials start the process for the election of the President, Vice President, and member of the National Assembly in accordance with the provisions of the constitution and law.
“Please proceed with the necessary process for the election of the vacant National Assembly members, as well as the President and Vice President. We will consult with the political parties and come to a decision to this extent,” he added.
Prime Minister Dahal also thanked the EC for their successful execution of the local level, provincial, and federal elections.
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane, and others, were present in the meeting.
During the meeting, the EC commissioners, including Chief Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya, provided the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Ministers with an overview of the election process.
