KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has decided to join the coalition government formed under the leadership of CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
The meeting of the party’s senior leaders held in Kathmandu on Wednesday decided to join the government if the party’s terms and conditions are met, party spokesperson Mohan Shrestha told Himal Press.
Declaring a public holiday on Late King Prithvi Narayan Shah’s birthday, making the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) more active, setting up chemical fertilizers plant, and involvement of the party in preparation of the government’s policies and programs are some of the conditions that RPP has set to join the government.
Earlier, the pro-monarchy party had decided to support the UML-Maoist coalition to form the government but stay out of the government.
RPP has 14 seats in the House of Representatives.
