POKHARA: Tribhuvan Army Club has been crowned the champion of 9th National Games which concluded in Pokhara on Tuesday.
The department side became the champion winning 172 gold medals.
This is Tribhuvan Army Club’s third straight title. It had become champion in the previous two national games as well.
Tribhuvan Army Club won a total of 370 medals – 172 gold, 109 silver and 89 bronze.
Departmental sides dominated the medals table. Nepal APF Club finished in the position winning 64 gold medals. It won a total of 218 medals including 73 silver and 81 bronze.
Nepal Police Club clinched the third position winning 61 gold, 61 silver and 73 bronze medals.
Hosts Gandaki Province finished fourth winning 72 gold, 31 silver and 57 bronze medals.
Athletes from 11 teams competed in the 9th National Games for 396 gold medals in 36 games between October 14 and 20. Along with three departmental terms, seven provinces and one team of Non-Resident Nepalese Association (NRNA) participated in the national games.
Karnali Province will host the 10th National Games in 2024.
