KATHMANDU: Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) Immigration Office has returned 84 Nepalis, who were traveling to various countries on visit visas, from the airport
The immigration office sent back Nepalis bound for countries such as the UAE, Sri Lanka, and Bahrain, among others, as they were unable to provide immigration officials with the purpose of their visit.
Subash Rajbanshi from Morang, Deepak Raj Oha from Doti, Bijan Rokka from Salyan, Sudip Poudel from Udayapur, Arnish Khatri and Bikram BK from Syangja, Nabin Dangi from Kaski, Bijaya Shrestha from Sankhuwasabha, Suman BK from Baridya, and Prakash Mahato from Chitwan are among those who were turned away by the immigration office.
The immigration office has heightened its scrutiny at the international airport as recruitment agents have been misusing visit visas to traffic Nepalis to various job destinations in Europe and the Middle East.
