KATHMANDU: Moxy Hotels, a modern, stylish, and affordable hotel brand of Marriott Bonvoy, announced its entry in Nepal with the opening of Moxy Kathmandu, a four-star property, on Friday.
Located in Kamaladi, Moxy Kathmandu is MS Group’s third property in Kathmandu after the Fairfield by Marriott, Thamel, and Marriott Kathmandu Hotel, Naxal.
The first Moxy hotel opened in Milan, Italy, in 2014. Today, more than 130 Moxy hotels are in operation across the world. Moxy Kathmandu is the first Moxy hotel in Nepal and the third in South Asia after Mumbai and Bengaluru.
“Moxy’s bold, playful spirit is perfectly suited for a city like Kathmandu, where tradition meets vibrant modernity. As demand for experiences that are both unconventional and culturally connected increases, Moxy Kathmandu brings eclectic youthful energy to match the pace of the city,” Kiran Andicot, Senior Vice President, South Asia, Marriott International, said about the hotel. “We are proud to introduce this lifestyle brand to Nepal – our first in the country and third in South Asia as we expand our portfolio in the region to attract travelers seeking style, energy, and authenticity.”
Moxy Kathmandu features 101 guestrooms designed smartly to maximise space and adapt to each guest’s needs. Plush bedding, walk-in showers, 55-inch HD Smart TVs, modular furniture, motion-activated lights, open compartments, and peg walls create a modern, intuitive stay experience, according to Marriott Bonvoy.
Moxy Kathmandu has two in-house restaurants. LA HACIENDA offers a Latin American culinary experience, while CARIÑO – Terraza Latina provides a breezy open-air terrace perfect for cocktails and city views. It also has a well-equipped fitness center.
