Tara Air suspends flights to Mugu, Humla, Jumla from Surkhet

SURKHET: Tara Air has discontinued its regular flights from Surkhet to Karnali Province’s three districts – Mugu, Humla, and Jumla.

The domestic short take off and landing (STOL) operator has said that the flights were suspended due to losses incurred on every flight.

The air service, inaugurated in December last year, by Karnali Province’s Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment, Suresh Adhikari, has now been discontinued.

Himali Tour and Travels had been operating flights to these three districts through Tara Air. The travel company mentioned that the flights were suspended due to continuous losses on each flight and the lack of support from the Karnali Province Government.

Min Bahadur Rawal of Himali Tour and Travels said that although operations began with an agreement to conduct two regular flights per week to the three districts, the necessary support was not provided.
