KATHMANDU: A total of 65,813 Nepali youths departed for foreign job destinations in the month of Poush (mid-December to mid-January).
The latest data released by the Department of Foreign Employment (DoFE) shows 26,723 individuals left the country with new labor approvals through various recruitment companies. Similarly, 31,398 youths left the country during the month with re-entry approvals.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) emerged as the most popular job destination for Nepalis in the review month, with 13,860 men and 2,525 women heading to the Gulf destination. Saudi Arabia was next, welcoming 14,307 Nepalis, followed by Qatar with 14,018 arrivals, and Malaysia hosting 8,091 Nepali workers.
Additionally, Kuwait, Japan, Bahrain, and Hong Kong received 3,598, 790, 415, and 9 Nepalis, respectively.
Among European countries, Romania welcomed 1,058 Nepalis, the United Kingdom received 187 Nepalis, and Croatia saw 558 Nepali arrivals. Slovakia (41), Cyprus (357), Malta (263), Poland (183), Serbia (135), and Turkey (20) also hosted Nepali workers during the review month.
