KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba Sunday said voting for the members of the House of Representatives and seven province assemblies was held with great enthusiasm across the country.
Issuing a statement, Deuba said that the enthusiastic participation in voting reflects people’s deep and undisturbed faith in democracy. “I believe that the results of the election will help in building an egalitarian society based on democratic culture, making the country independent, and prosperous.”
Deuba has reminded that the common Nepali people have been playing their roles responsibly for the protection of the constitution and the development of the democratic system after the promulgation of constitution in 2015. “Your active participation to exercise constitutional rights in the general election reflects your decades long devotion to democracy yet again,” he added in the statement.
He also expressed his sincere gratitude to all who participated in the election with great enthusiasm and patience. “Your active and enthusiastic participation in the election has given more motivation to the government and the political parties,” he added.
The Prime Minister has thanked government officials and security personnel for their untired efforts to make the election succesful. He also expressed sincere gratitude to political parties, journalists, and
national and international observers.
