Eight dead in Pyuthan road accident

KATHMANDU: Eight persons, including four children, died in a car accident in Bhingri, Pyuthan district on Monday.

According to the District Police Office, Pyuthan, the car, which was returning to Dang after a pilgrimage to Swargadwari Temple in Pyuthan, met with an accident at a bend near Bhingri. “The car fell 45 meters off the road,” said DSP Subash Khadka to Himal Press. “Preliminary investigation shows that the driver lost control in the bend due to high speed.”

Although all eight individuals were immediately taken to Pyuthan District Hospital for treatment, the doctor pronounced them dead soon after.

One of the deceased has been identified as Tara Kumal from Lamahi Municipality-5.
