KATHMANDU: Cricket Association Nepal (CAN) has invited 28 players for a closed camp training ahead of the tri-series with Scotland and Namibia.
According to CAN, 28 players have been invited for a closed camp training for ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 matches to be played at TU International Cricket Ground.
Nepal is sixth in the league with 18 points from 24 games. Scotland is in the top position with 46 points, while Namibia is third with 37 points from 30 games.
Nepal will play its first game against Namibia on February 17. It will then play Scotland on February 17, Nambiia on February 18, and Scotland on February 21.
Former captain Sandeep Lamichhane has not been included in the team, despite CAN President Chatur Bahadur Chand suggesting that ‘he could be included in the team if needed’.
A rape case is sub judice against Lamichhane at Patan High Court. He has been released on bail.
