POKHARA: As many as 21 passengers were injured when a bus and an electric microbus collided at Dumre in Tanahun along the Prithvi Highway on Thursday afternoon.
Two of the injured from the microbus are in critical condition, according to police.
The accident occurred at around 4:55 pm when a bus Damauli toward Muglin and an electric microbus coming from the opposite direction collided at Thulodhunga in Bandipur Rural Municipality Ward-4.
“Eleven of the 13 passengers were injured in the incident,” Nepal Police Inspector Ahish BK said. “Out of 10 passengers in the microbus, seven sustained moderate injuries and one suffered minor injuries, while two are in critical condition.”
Eight injured have been rushed to Chitwan Medical College in Bharatpur, four to Manipal Teaching Hospital in Pokhara and one to Ratnahari Hospital in Damauli.
The remaining injured are being treated at Laxmi Hospital in Tanahun.
The highway, which was briefly closed after the accident, has reopened for traffic, according to police.
