KATHMANDU: Rescue workers have recovered 21 bodies from the wreckage of the Indian bus that plunged into Marshyangdi River from Ainaphara cliff on the Anbukhaireni-Muglin section of Prithvi Highway in Tanahun on Friday.
According to DSP Shailendra Thapa, the joint spokesperson for the Armed Police Force, 12 injured passengers have been airlifted to Kathmandu for treatment. They are receiving treatment at TU Teaching Hospital.
Likewise, 10 others are undergoing treatment at local health facilities in Anbukhaireni.
The Indian tourists had arrived in Pokhara from Gorakhpur on Wednesday. After visiting Pokhara for two days, they had left for Kathmandu on Friday morning, local authorities say.
