17 in fray for FSU Chair in TU Central Campus

KATHMANDU: A total of 17 candidates have filed their nominations for the position of chairperson in the Free Students Union (FSU) election at Tribhuvan University (TU) Central Campus, Kirtipur.

According to Election Officer Prof Dr Krishna Prasad Neupane, the final list of candidates includes representatives from various student groups such as the CPN-UML aligned All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU), Nepali Congress affiliated Nepal Students’ Union (NSU) and the student wing of CPN (Maoist Center) ANNFSU (Revolutionary) as well as other independent student groups.

The candidates include Siddhanta Bhatta from ANNFSU, Deepak Raj Joshi from NSU, Praveen Dahal from ANNFSU (Revolutionary), Dinesh Karki from the Independent Student Group, Bilam Suwal from Nepal Revolutionary Students’ Union, Akkal Ranabhat from Nepali Students’ Forum and Narendra Singh Mahara from Naya Shakti Student Union, among others.

The TU Central Campus has a total of 6,146 voters.

The FSU election will be held on March 18 across the constituent and affiliated campuses of TU across the country.
