KATHMANDU: The cabinet meeting held on Monday took several important decisions, ranging from high-level appointments and transfers to different legislative initiatives.

Given below is a summary of cabinet decisions:

  • Approved the Industry and Commerce Promotion Council Order, 2025

  • Extended terms of the Armed Police Force Additional Inspector Generals Kalidas Dhaubaji and Kumar Neupane

  • Formed a seven-member High-Level Study and Investigation Committee led by former Chief Secretary Shankar Das Bairagi to probe the visit visa controversy

  • Approved Minister for Water Supply Pradip Yadav’s four-day visit to Seville, Spain, to participate in “Unlocking Water and Sanitation Financing Through the Heads of State Initiative”

  • Approved Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Arzu Rana Deuba’s 16-day visit to Italy to attend the 44th Session of the FAO Conference and Nepal promotion events

  • Approved Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens Nawal Kishor Sah’s visit to Germany to attend the 36th Nepal Day program

  • Approved a proposal to honour and award 27 athletes, coaches, and managers who recently secured medals in volleyball, wushu and kabaddi competitions

  • Extended the terms of two Nepal Army Colonels, promoted a Brigadier General to Major General, and transferred two Major Generals

  • Approved the China visit of Pokhara Mayor Dhanraj Acharya to participate in the Sister Cities Cooperation and Exchange Meeting in Lhasa

  • Approved the Honorary Consular General (Sixth Amendment) Regulations, 2025

  • Permitted the Ministry of Health and Population’s proposal to present a bill in Parliament to amend the Nepal Veterinary Council Act, 1998

  • Approved the National Sports Policy, 2025

  • Approved the National Strategy for Development of Statistics (2023/24–2028/29)

  • Transferred Secretaries:

    • Bharat Mani Subedi to the National Natural Resources and Fiscal Commission

    • Mahadev Pantha to the Election Commission

    • Shobhakanta Paudel to the Financial Comptroller General’s Office as Financial Comptroller General

    • Dr Khagendra Prasad Subedi to Gandaki Province as Principal Secretary
