KATHMANDU: Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has confirmed the death of 15 passengers on board the CRJ-200 aircraft of Saurya Airlines, which crashed on the runway of Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, on Wednesday morning.
Four, including Captain Manish Shakya, have been rescued, said Tribhuvan International Airport Spokesperson Gyanendra Bhul.
Three are receiving treatment at TU Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu, while Captain Shakya is undergoing treatment at KMC Teaching Hospital in Sinamangal.
The aircraft was heading to Pokhara for technical maintenance and all the passengers were the airline’s technical staff.
